Thoughts Of Heaven

We all have our own thoughts about Heaven and what’s there
So far all we know is that their will be streets of gold and light
Some think there’s mountains of treasure but what of Isaiah

Just as it’s written our thoughts are not God’s thought or ways
After all took God our Creator to create the universe in six days
Yet the Lord of all is still working on heaven

Down here on earth most of what we see is covered in eternal darkness
Way too many killings to count, tombstones over growing the dust we lay
But thanks to the Christ that gave His life to shine we’re given light

The world can be a depressing place I know and most of us hang our heads
So much we’re still walking lost in the wilderness wonder which way to go
Where is this promise land that we seek and purpose of this life

Well get the head up we’re no ostrich but children of the King with Christ
We may not feel like it, or look like it but our worth is priceless loved infinity
How can we tell if no one is watching with our eyes closed or down

Everyday somebody is watching waiting for a chance in hope to see light
Wether it be a flower hidden by weeds, or trapped by their own dark prison
They can see our light not just by our words but our walk leaving light to follow

When we get to Heaven I believe what we thought was treasure will not be
But will find what true treasure looks like not our treasure but the Kings
Another words value isn’t measured in gold or silver that’s just shiny dust

Sometimes when searching for our purpose in life we look in the wrong place
Sometimes instead of looking out, we need to take a look within own ourselves
More times then not we’re the living purpose

Don’t we know yet we’re the purpose for heaven by our love for Jesus Christ
By Christ live through us we become a living testament of hope in God a light
What we thought was our shadows will be the lost, the finishing touch to Heaven

Jesus told his disciples "the kingdom of heaven is at hand" so maybe the kingdom is the place where the king rules in power? I only know that once we are with Him there our interest will be a lot more in Him than in some mansion however nice that all may be. You said it well, brother.

thanks ann, guess this is another one of those poems, where im trying to encourage those that are struggling to find there purpose in life, just to be a part of something to feel successful for once instead of feeling of failing again. I've seen this soo much in my friend Jamie I have a bigger heart for it I guess and so hoping some one gets it through this poem that we can't always see the success we have here on earth, but will see it in heaven, will see the lives we made a diffrince in not by talking or works alone, but the walk of Christ in our footsteps.
