I'm promoting use of my forum! Whoo! I haven't posted anything here in a while. So here goes.

This used to be the Garden of Eden
But now the beauty is gone.
The trees, hills, flowers, and majesty
Replaced with a concrete lawn.

God created a luch verdant place,
Man and wife lived there in great joy
Then the serpent tempted them with an apple
Man and wife tried to play coy.

Out walking about in His garden,
Abba His children He did not see
For Adam and Eve were hiding from Him
Embarrassed to face the great He.

Out stepped the children
There father just shook His head.
And from the garden He cast them
For they disobeyed what He'd said.

But where did that garden go?
Did it whither away and die?
Or was it left behind by God?
Or perhaps taken up on high?

Maybe that garden was left behind
Left to live on its own.
Devoid of humanity
Simply water and trees and stone.

One day man stumbled across it
Delighting in the great find.
For they sought something to build with
Like the treasure of wood left behind.

Gone are the trees from the garden
Flat ground speckled with stumps
Trees were used to make houses
Leaves and flowers were thrown in the dumps.

Next then came the oil men
Drilling and digging for gold.
Leaving the land in chaos
Tankers left tracks where they rolled.

Now that garden was barren land
Mankind had taken its toll
Empty space and disarray
The devil had reached his goal.

What good could there be for this place?
Can any good come from it?
A man moved in and got an idea
A vision of asphault hit.

This used to be the Garden of Eden
But now the beauty is gone
The trees, hills, flowers, and majesty
Replaced with a concrete lawn.
