"there are only 2 types of people, Christians and pre-Christians."

i find this very interesting...

I find it interesting as well. Also false if taken exactly as stated.

SHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! if we're good and just discuss it and ponder it without debate, they'll let it stay in this forum where 120000 people won't pounce on it and take it way over my head with philosophy and theology and all those other ologys that i can't think of at 1:12am.

So I should let something I see as false go unmentioned?

Taken on face value it does sound a bit "inaccurate." What it actually is (I've heard others say this before) is a way of stating faith that 'all will come to repentance'.

I think, personally, that the statement is meant to be taken as the ideal.

i just heard it at retreat and thought it interesting.. i never said i agreed with it.. and i didn't say it myself.. there are clearly quotation marks around it...

and i'm not sure what i really do think about it.. i'm still in the 'Jesus good, Devil bad' stage of things... i'll stick with that on most matters... other things are too much for me to try to side one way or another...

i think that was the point too.. the guy used it when refering to an evangelism project. some students in his campus ministry started a climbing club where they's put 2 christians and a pre christian in a car and go on a 4-10 hour drive to go rock climbing... they'd talk the whole way about God and stuff...

I see a little context goes a long way ;)

I think for the purposes of evangelism this would be a good model to work with.

But at the same time, when pursuing evangelism we mustn't forget Matt 7:6 (http://bible.gospelcom.net/cgi-bin/bible?passage=MATT+7:6&language=english&version=NIV&showfn=off)

Did somebody call?

Why yes they did :D To get closer to solving this conundrum we must use methodological cogitation to bifurcate between the ontological nature of a Christian and non Christian or pre-Christian as it was put. Though we must tread lightly lest we should impale our doctrine with titular reductionist fallacies.... :)

Just ignore that nonsensical babble. Im a Pelologist :D

My work here is done! :p

What exactly is a Pelologist?

Vinnie

ology as you no doubt know means the study of...

Pelology is the study of Pelvidism.
A Pelologist is a person who studies pelology.

Its simple. Like Geology and geologist.

Pelvidism, well, I have a firm grasp on it but many of you might not. Its the views of our buddy Pel. :D

how did i know something like this would happen?

Through methodological cogitation?

Pel- why be ordained from you for the cost when I can be ordained online for free?

Then again... $15 in Canadian money is equal to what... about a quarter American?
