Thought this would be good for Christmas, got it in my email this morning:

Santa lives at the North Pole ... JESUS is everywhere.

Santa rides in a sleigh ...
JESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water.

Santa comes but once a year ...
JESUS is an ever present help.

Santa fills your stockings with goodies ...
JESUS supplies all your needs.

Santa comes down your chimney uninvited ...
JESUS stands at your door and knocks, and then enters
your heart when invited.

You have to wait in line to see Santa ...
JESUS is as close as the mention of His name.

Santa lets you sit on his lap ...
JESUS lets you rest in His arms.

Santa doesn't know your name, all he can say is
"Hi little boy or girl, what's your name?" ...

JESUS knew our name before we were born.
Not only does He know our name,
He knows our address too.
He knows our history and future and
He even knows how many hairs are on our heads.

Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly ...
JESUS has a heart full of love

All Santa can offer is HO HO HO ...
JESUS offers health, help and hope.

Santa says "You better not cry" ...
JESUS says "Cast all your cares on me for I care for you."

Santa's little helpers make toys ...
JESUS makes new life, mends wounded hearts, repairs
broken homes and builds mansions.

Santa may make you chuckle but ...
JESUS gives you joy that is your strength.

While Santa puts gifts under your tree ...
JESUS became our gift and died on a tree.... The cross.

We need to put Christ back in CHRISTmas, Jesus is still
the reason for the season.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not
perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

LOL, yeah! I was hoping to edit it quickly before anyone saw it! I don't why I put "God" instead of "Santa"! Must have been having a blonde moment! ;)

But in all seriousness, my reason for posting it was that I see too many people nowadays associating Christmas with Santa this, Santa that. It is almost as if he has replaced Jesus as being the reason for the season, you know? And why, when Jesus can provide us with so much more? :)

I know a woman in my bible study who explained Christmas to her little boy by telling him it was Jesus' birthday. The boy said something like "Well, why don't we buy him a birthday cake then and have a party?" So now every year on Christmas, they buy a birthday cake with "Happy Birthday Jesus" on it and sing "Happy Birthday" as part of their celebration. I thought that was cute! :)

I like it but this one is inaccurate:

Santa comes down your chimney uninvited ...

I don't have a chimney?

We leave the guy milk and cookies. What do you mean uninvited?

Personally, I think its all a ploy created by cookie manufacturers :umm:

Amen! I'm in agreement with you. Santa seems to take center stage when it's one of the Holiest days of the year for Christian's. Jesus came to give us life...and everyday should be Christmas.

I loved the break down of Santa vs. Jesus. He has nothing on him. :D

Here's a link to an article from Kenneth Copeland Ministries. Please enjoy!

The story of the true St. Nicholas is a beautiful picture of the giving that Christmas is really about. St. Nicholas represents the giving heart of our heavenly Father, Who doesn't give switches and rods, but Who always gives only good gifts. During this Christmas season, we want to share with you "The Real Story of St. Nicholas," written by Kenneth Copeland and originally published in the Believer's Voice of Victory magazine in December 1992.

You can read this and other Christmas articles by Kenneth and Gloria Copeland on our Web site at www.kcm.org .
Go to the "Articles" section of the "Study Center," and
then click on the new topic labeled "Seasonal."
