Hi I have taken Ambien but after a year that wore off and I was only getting like 4 hrs. Now I'm on Restoril. Anybody know anything about it?

I don't know a thing about it - did you look it up on the 'net?

Not trying to be comical but I sleep really well after a few glasses of wine and less caffeine in the afternoon.

I've got restless legs. I'm taking clonazepam. Seems to work pretty well. Much better than walking from room to room all night!

I'm familiar with that medication for anxiety, is it a reliable sleep aid?

I take ambien however the way my mind works I can easily "over think it" if that makes since. When this happens to me along with taking it when I need too I also try to read something light for example I happen to be reading the Sherlock Homles stories. But ever one is different hope that helps.

It does help to gear down before you go to bed. Stay away from the computer screen for at least an hour before you want to go to sleep. Do something calming, as Don suggested. I like to sit with my husband while he watches TV and crochet. Some herbal teas are helpful such as Sleepy Time Tea. Getting plenty of exercise during the day helps - just not right before bedtime.

thanks to all who responded. I'm doing fine with restoril. I realized I did tend to rush preparing for bed.
