If I've included one that wasn't made by Disney, or left out one that you really loved, let me know.

IMHO, you're never too old for Disney.

oh...so many hard choices - I chose Beauty and the Beast though - I love the Disney movies :)

Huh, I just had to watch Beauty and the Beast in Spanish for Spanish class...It was hilarious.
I love Aristocats....although Fantasia, Lion King, Mulan, and Pocahontas are also some favs of mine.
Kristine- you are soo right you can never be too old to love Disney.

Although I don't like it that they are going back and creating sequels to some all time classics,i.e. Peter Pan, Snow white...
That is kind of ruining them.. Oh well. Just thought I'd say that and see what others think of it.

I have mixed feelings about the sequels.

One the one hand, it does kind of take away from childhood imagination of what might have happened in that character's life. It takes away some of the 'magic' of fantasy.

On the other hand, it's like reading a good book. Sometimes you fall so in love with the characters that you just hate to let them go off and live some life while having no clue what becomes of them. "They lived happily ever after", although providing for imagination, does little to apease one's curiosity about what 'actually did happen' to Ariel and Disney's other beloveds.

There is also the reality that modern animation technology can do wonders when it comes to touching up the classics, and their sequels tend to be even more impressive in grandure. Just because the well-loved classics we grew up with were very loved despite their simplicity, modern audiences require modern effects. After all, Disney is Disney, how bad can a sequel be?

At least, that's the way I see it.

true it could touch them up but they add new characters some times and it kind of takes away from the original. But that is my opinion.

The Little Mermaid is my definite favourite, mostly cause ever since I can remember I wanted to be a fish and live in the ocean. I also really like the Aristocats.

Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon,
or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned,
can you sing with all the voices of the mountain,
can you paint with all the colours of the moon?

You know Pocahontas was the first film I watched of which the soundtrack really cried out to me! I sang that song all the way home!

Kristine

butterfly, you didn't post your vote on the poll. I voted for Little Mermaid too (same reasons - I love to swim) so that should make two.

You've just got to love Ariel's voice! "What would I give if I could live out of these waters... just wait and see some day I'll be part of your world"

And of course nothing beast Sebastian in Under the Sea and the squacking bird at the end of Kiss the Girl

My second fave would have to be Lion King. Hearing (reading) that rendition of Hakunah Mattada brought back all those great scenes

I love peoples response when I tell them that. They look at me like I'm crazy and say "she's only three inches tall". Ever since I was a kid I thought she was the cutest thing. My girlfriend is even going to get a tinkerbell tattoo. By the way, what exactly do those faces mean. I didn't know if they liked me or not--they were looking at me wierd...

Simpsons!!!

08-24-02, 03:38 AM
I think I remember thinking Captain Planet was kind of cute. Michele, the Prince from the Little Mermaid was alright, except that I didn't like him cause I thought he ruined Ariel's life. I always thought she should have stayed in the sea.

Michele
08-24-02, 11:23 AM
dorf, the Simpsons are great! i watch it alot....not quite suitable for children though;):):D

aww butterfly i never thought about Eric ruining Ariel's life! maybe he should have become a merman...hmm...have you seen the Little Mermaid II where Ariel's daughter wants to go to the sea and be a mermaid? very confusing.....;)

Vinnie
08-24-02, 02:14 PM
I didn't see part 2 but I downloaded part 1 to my computer....

Sings: Under the sea....

Michele

What about Belle from Beauty and the Beast? She's supposed to be the beauty :p

Michele
08-24-02, 03:32 PM
Belle is very very pretty....probably my favorite girl from a Disney movie

the Beast is very nice but he looks a little bit too much like a pretty boy when he changes at the end;):D Prince Eric is definately much cuter.....;)

Nicole
08-24-02, 03:37 PM
Belle is definitely my favorite female disney character :)

I liked the Beat better as the beast...lol

Michele
08-24-02, 03:55 PM
yeah....the beast was so sweet!;)

the male characters in Cinderella and Snow White and Sleeping Beauty really didnt do much....they werent that interesting to me....
