Can Hitting Yourself/Self-Inflicting Pain Lead To Cutting?

Can hitting yourself lead to cutting when it comes to self-inflicting pain on yourself? A friend told me that it can but I just wanted to ask other people,& see what others would say.

Donna I don't know the answer to this for sure. I have not known specifically of someone who had been hitting themself and started cutting but I can see where some of the same things that lead lt hitting could lead to cutting. This is a question that would be appropriate to ask the doctor the next time you have an appointment with him. A doctor can give you good general information as well as treating specific problems.

I'm never by myself when I'm at my main Doctor,&I can't ask it infront of mom,&we have the same doctor,&appointments at the sametime sometimes. I can't exactly have my parents knowing any of this stuff,besides they'd accuse me of doing this for attention. My friend told me that it can lead to that,&it almost did that 1 time.
