Why do some faiths believe in the trinity and some don't. Where do they get the support for both of their beliefs. I am somewhat confused as I am new to the bible. Is Jesus god or is Jesus God's son. Please help!!!
Blessings
Hello and welcome to ilj. I'm glad you are starting to get into reading your Bible.
Bible scholars have made very complicated explainations on this question over the years. But God says He makes His word simple so even a little child can understand. Have you read Genesis 1:26 God talks aout creating humans? He says "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness" . That tells us that to understand God we need to see what He made humans to be like. We know that each individual human has 3 basic parts, the body, the soul, and the spirit. The body is our physical form that we see in the mirror and the physical inside workings we call organs, etc. Our soul is our mind, will and emotions. Our spirit is the part of us that reaches out to God and becomes one with Him in Jesus. We are each one person and each person has 3 parts. It is the same way with God. He is one and He has 3 parts which some call persons, The Father who is the supreem and final authority in all, the Son who came to earth as Jesus Christ our Savior, and the Holy Spirit who draws us to Christ Jesus.
Have you accepted Jesus as your Savior yet? If you have you have His promise that the Holy Spirit will take what is His and show it to you, teach you and help you understand. Please post again any time and let us know what you are learning as you read. You may enjoy the Christian Fellowship board here too.
