This just in from the front lines of the war on Tyranny. In a surprise move, the Ents have come out of the forest and joined with the forces of Flannel. They cite the Tyrant's banning of wood as their reason for joining the fight. This bring a boost to Flannel Morale, for the Ents could most likely crush the Tyrant by themselves! The Ents are providing a large amount of wisdom and brute force to the Flannelish hoardes, which include the Elfin Armies, the Dwarfish Hoardes, the forces of the Lord of the Birds, Flandolf the Plaid, and the normal array of Flannelish forces. Stay tuned. More news as it happens.

Ah, Crystal is my favorite :D

Now, who voted no??

Vinnie

A few things for your ents.

I have archers with flaming arrows

I have fire breathing dragons

I have a fireball throwing wizard

I have a balrog with a flaming sword

Cave trolls are about the same size as ents

And Dwarves and Ents don't get along too well. That is a commonly known fact. Dwarves carry axes and axes cut down ents. Ents no like dwarves. Your army will probably go through a civil war and defeat itself before the Tyrant defeats it! :p

Btw, it was 2 to 2 ;)

I already figured on your flaming treachery! My Ents shall be safe, and the Dwarves and the Ents will make peace long enough to defeat their common foe. Dwarves detest using their axes for chopping wood when they could be chopping the heads off of orcs!

Hollow talk....

I voted for the second Yes. I figured that was the "no" vote? :p

Ents, huh? How interesting. I can't wait to see what they actually look like. ;)

This would be far more thrilling if the hobbits got their chubby butts out of their little house-holes and joined the fighting.

"Kill 'em all...tea anyone?"
Kinda like the British...hmmmm

The British like tea, hobbits like tea. The British are hobbits!!!!

:D

Flannel Avenger

That actually makes sense!

Except that the British left their "shire" and created an empire.

Hobbits also like receiving gifts...Hehehehehe

I like tea, but I'm a butterfly. I can't be a butterfly and a hobbit at the same time.

Well wait. IF you look at WWII we were the hobbits. Brit was Gondor, France was Rohan, Japan was Isengard, and Germany was Mordor.

All these LOTR references are making my head spin. :p

Who was Aragorn??

Bohrdumb

You mean to tell me you started this thread and don't even know all these characters.

Am I really the only one who's head is full of useless knowledge?

Flannel Avenger

We mean in World War II.

Bohrdumb
12-30-01, 06:35 PM
Rivendell- London
Lothlorien- Paris
Mines of Moria- Normandy beach head
Gandolf- James Madison ( Madison's 14points would have saved us from WWII in the first place)
Boromir- I could see this as Hirohito, or perhaps Musollini, I'm leaning more towards Musollini as I think Hirohito would be Sarumen
Aragorn- Roosevelt
But because you didn't ask, I'll tell you Elrond would be Churchill

Now obviously these can't coincide perfectly, but not bad. And don't ask me to do this for any other wars...Vietnam would just be crazy.

Like I said, Useless knowledge

Why is Boromir Mussolini?

Bohrdumb
12-30-01, 07:45 PM
Cus Boromir's traitoress actions almost caused the downfall of everyone, but in the end he helped save the day.

BTW, I tried to vote in this poll, but it said I had already voted. This is a lie! My alter-ego voted, not me!

I guess this dang computer is smarter than I gave it credit for.

Just in case you read this before you read the thread I started, my identity has been revealed. I won't ruin it for you here. When you see who I am, you'll know how I tried to vote.

Mussolini didn't save anything though, he was just executed...

Anyway, I think that trying to tie parallels between the Lord of the Rings and WWII are ****yzing the books waaaaay too much...

Bohrdumb
01-01-02, 01:38 PM
Not Mussolini himself, but Italy was a big help in the end.

Solja Slim
01-01-02, 03:10 PM
Other than surrendering and having their troops stop fighting, te Italians didn't really do much.

Bohrdumb
01-01-02, 03:16 PM
After Italy surrendered they began supplying the allies with troops and equipment, especially in Africa.

Anyways, we need to let this topic die too.
