View Full Version : Summoning all whom read this to rad it...

Sir Shaun
12-11-01, 08:30 PM
Hello,

I need for twelve of you to volunteer to serve as the jury in the trial of flannel.

If there are not twelve whom apply then I shall accept all whom apply assuming the prosecutor and defense counsel have no objections.

Your job will be to read the trial post and keep up to date but ignore any facts you see outside of the thread and then when I ask for you verdict you shall offer me one in a deliberation thread where you can talk to each other but no one else...

Then your forperson shall come into the court and give me the verdict.

Ok then so whom amongst you volunteers?

Signed,
Sir Shaun...

if you already have a job in the court you are not allowed to serve on the jury.

Furthermore, if there's one thing that annoys me more than anything else in the entire world, it's creating a double post! All right, so maybe it's not that bad, but if I have to make a double post, I can at least try to make the second one interesting.

Buttefly if you wish to join the jury you may.
Crossrythm If you are summoned to testify or anything you must do so. The only way you would be made to leave the jury is if one of the defense or prosecutors would object to your presence.
Also in the matter of multiple poster the IHCofC has rekognized the sovereign right of people to post as more than one person before and we will not ban that right now.

Your duties involve keeping up to date in reading the thread about a trial to ban flannel forever. You may not discuss the case untill I tell you it is time to deliberate. Also since you have all volunteered I am sure you have superior moral standards and will have no problem not reading about the trial in other threads but if you do just don't let what you here outside the courtroom bias your opinion based on the facts presented you.

Now then you are free to roam about durring the trial but when the time comes fro belidberation then I must ask that you all remain in the deliberation room untill such a time as you have reached your verdict. Also I would ask that at this time you all elect a foreperson to represent you in the court. Also if you have any questions or are completely confused is suppose you can ask questions. Meals will be provided curtosy of the refridgerator in your home. Also the International High Consolate will reimberse you for milleage traveled between posts. For this though you must submit a form A-9473-bac filled out in triplicate and filed with the IHCofC and also notarized by the court recorder.

That is all for now I belive.
When you all have decided on a foreperson please notify me.

Thanks,

Excuse me but the Tyrant was sick and he now wants to be on the jury. We should have 13 as Flannel expected 12 and 13 throws it off so there is no tampering.

If I can't I wish to serve as a stand-bye juror in case the defense or prosecuters omit anyone.

Yes, but it would still be unethical. Sooo.....how's the weather in Raleigh?

Flannel Avenger
12-14-01, 07:30 PM
It's been cloudy, and humid, and rainy. And it was 70 degrees today. Very abnormal. It doesn't feel like Christmas time.

What is the weather like in Canada?

butterfly
12-14-01, 07:39 PM
Well, we had a huge windstorm last night that knocked out all the power and a whole bunch of trees. It was soooooo cool! It's still pretty blustery right now though it died down a bit in the afternoon. And it's cold! We've had snow twice but both times it rained the next day and turned it all to slush....ick. Most of the time it's pouring rain and freezing cold, though not quite cold enough to turn it to snow, except on the mountains of course. They're having an excellent ski season apparently. I'm not much of a skier though so if I get a chance to go up there during the holidays, I'll probably just go toboganning. That's the one thing I miss about the east coast, we always had snow there. *sigh* :(

Ducky
12-14-01, 09:26 PM
Hey Butterfly - I'm going to my aunt & uncles in Fairmont - I finally get a White Christmas!!! Never spent Christmas away from the coast before... though sometimes it's white, but not usually... we're supposed to get snow tomorrow eh?

butterfly
12-15-01, 12:59 AM
Ya, we're supposed to get 2-4 cm tonight, big whoop. I want at least a foot darnit! Didn't we have a white Christmas a few years back? I can't remember which year it was but I remember there being tons of snow, even for eastern standards. It shut down the whole city. Of course, you may not have gotten as much on the island. Yes that wind was crazy! Apparently there were still some areas without power today and a bunch of streets downtown were closed because of fallen trees. It was so neat though cause we rarely ever get interesting weather like that. It's always cloudy with showers, cloudy with rain cloudy with, well, you get the drift!

Vinnie
12-15-01, 01:48 AM
Statistically I think my region has a 25% chance each year for a white Christmas. I think that comes from archived climatological data or sumthin ;)

Ducky
12-15-01, 04:46 AM
Butterfly: Personally I don't think it's gonna happen, at least not in Vic. I was actually in the Lower Mainland a few years ago (3 I think) the few days before Christmas when we got the snowstorm - Didn't know if I'd be able to catch the ferry home! We were driving on that main road by Metrotown (forget the name). It was CRAZY!!! But NOTHING like the blizzard of '96! 'Course that was in Jan or Feb but THAT was somethin' else. I lived in a little town up island so of course we were like the LAST people to get power back!!! But we had a wood stove so it didn't really matter that much, except that we had to provide water for my aunt & uncle who had a well... We tend to get less rain (and snow) in Vic than anywhere else in the province... even 45 mins away gets a lot more than here! It's always pretty windy here though, so this wind isn't that unusual for us... funny how the weather can vary so much over a small area.... (Is it true that people in the Lower Mainland don't tan, just rust???) :) Kidding!
*Ducky* (:>( )<
AKA Sarah

butterfly
12-15-01, 08:46 PM
LOL, I'd say that rust is a fairly accurate description. Yes, the weather varies a lot. Just a couple of weeks ago, I was on my way to school which is just at the bottom of the hill. We'd had snow the night before. When I left it was hailing at my house, snowing at the train station and raining at my school. What's weird is that they take the weather measurements for our city at the airport which is the driest spot in all of the Lower Mainland, so we only rank about 5th in the country for rain. If they took the measurements closer to the coast we'd probably come first, well, we might come behind Tofino, that place is crazy for rain. You've been to Metrotown? Ick, I hate metrotown! It's always so crowded. I stay clear of there as much as possible.

Orpheus42
12-16-01, 01:37 AM
The Tyrant is not the prosecution or the plaintiff. This trial is being administered by the IHCofC, Sir Vincent is the prosecutor. The Tyrant has no role in this trial whatsoever. The only way he could is if Sir Shaun allows the jury to be expanded to include him. Further slander by the Flannel one against our noble Sir Vincent will surely warrant disciplinary action by the Console.

Peace, Love, and Jesus Christ,

Sir Jason

Flannel Avenger
12-16-01, 01:41 AM
I said nothing of Sir Vincent.

Orpheus42
12-16-01, 01:48 AM
You have in the past accused Sir Vincent of being a puppet for the Tyrant, and your current allegations regarding the Tyrant being the plaintiff/prosecutor/whatever echo that allegation strongly. The Tyrant legally has no place in the trial, so even bringing up any past allegations he may have made have no place with regards to the trial. Because the jury is full, it matters not unless Sir Shaun makes a decree. However, if the Tyrant would be on the jury, you would have no room to complain. And I dare say, this court will be much more fair than your previous court in which you tried the Tyrant.

Not being tyrantlike. Do not put words in my mouth. I accused you of sticking your foot where there is not a foothold reserved for you. You have no authority in this decision, that is the decision over the process of selecting jurors. Anything you therefore say trying to influence that will be annoying and likely cause people to be less sympathetic to your cause. Luckily for you, we at the Console are generally able to overlook such things. However, your repeated attempts to undermine our authority will most likely only be seen as evidence against you in the trial.
