Rating: (G, PG, PG-13) I think it was M actually :D

Synopsis of Movie (without ending of course): Company in the future builds a robot child capable of emotion.

My Opinion of Movie: Very emotionally heavy. I enjoyed it immensely, but it made me think for long after I left the cinema (isn't that what could movies should do?)

Movie score (out of 5 stars or smilies or whatever you use, just
use 5 of them): 4 stars

Family/Christian Friendly: (yes or no) Christian yes, Family no

Bad language: (how much) None that I noted

Violence: (how bad) A little, but nothing that wasn't necessary to the plot

Sexual reference or situations: (yes or no) No

Would I let my child of 16 watch it? (yes or no) Yes

Would I let my child of 10 watch it? (yes or no) No

Would I let my child of 3 watch it? (yes or no) No

------

If you're able to, I recommend a viewing of this movie. Be warned that the ending brought a tear even to my eye. I think that this film will be one of the "classic" movies of this decade. Incredible plot, thought provoking... very good. It's not especially Christian, but its not especially un-Christian either.

Fabulous film, but I think you are understating the violence. This film has incredibly disturbing violence in it.(Not that that is a bad thing for me) but be warned, if you don't like violence, this movie may be disturbing for you.

Other than that, it is terrific, and the ethical issues raised are fascinating and complex.

I definitely do think that this was a really thought provoking movie. It's good in the sense that it's very well made, and the issues raised definitely do keep you awake thinking. Remember in the beginning about what he said about God though? Its like that guy wanted to play God and create all his little humans. That, I thought, was unChristianlike. Very. The acting is awesome, real realistic. I cried through the entire thing. But I still don't think that we'll be able to make something with emotion, real emotion. The robot in the movie just portrayed what action a real kid would do if he had emotions. Overall, an excellent movie.

Where?

Apart from the robot-destruction derby thing, I can't really think of any violence in the movie.
