So whats anyones take on all these diet pills out there.

Do any of them actually work?
Are they safe?

I am guessing they are mostly dangerous and ineffective, but I am wondering if anyone has some experience with any of them. I am hoping to lose about 10 pounds in the next 5 weeks, and have considered trying a diet pill to help, but I am concerned that I would get one that is a scam or could possibly kill me.

i have taken metabolife before. those are some horse pills though. nasty nasty but they worked. i think this was back before the whole ephedra thing. i was like...7th grade? lol. yeah. just as long as you eat healty and in moderation plus exercise i think you should be all right with any of them that you take as long as you arent allergic to anything.

I saw one called Trim Spa. Anyone ever heard of this one?

The GNC employee said he lost 20 pounds using it earlier this year. But he was all bulky and musceled out so I wasn't sure if he was telling em the truth.

So anyone know anything about the pills called Trim Spa?

The secret to these is "in the small print"

Usually says: When combined with Diet and excercise....

Therein lies the secret to all weight loss..

The pills could help a little, but if anything it would be water weight that you lose...

My advice is to up your cardio and cut calories a tad. 10 lbs will fall off pretty quickly that way.

(just eat small balanced meals - and NEVER get tired of eating Veggies!!!)

Not really . The energy it gave me caused me to burn more calories. I have absolutely no energy. I think I may have inheritated my moms thryoid problems.

I have actually altered my diet and have noticed some weight loss. I went from regular cola to diet and lost 15 pounds in around 2 months, no other change. Now I am eating at home and eating less than I had been doing and have lost a bit more. I can't seem to find time to get out and run or go to the YMCA so I was hoping that some of these weight loss pills could give me that extra boost I am looking for.

Hi Jeff

Lifting weights helps alot. The more muscle you build the better your metabolism is at burning fat, even while you're resting.

My husband started lifting about 2 months ago and now his pants just about fall off. He wen't to a 36 inch waist to about a 32 now.

Also, with the South Beach Diet I've heard that you can lose from 8-13 lbs in 2 weeks. It's like that Atkins diet at first...cutting out carbs. But, you slowly reintroduce them at 2 week intervals so your body learns how to process the sugars.

I have the book but haven't done the diet yet. It's very hard for me not to pig out on chocolate....

I'm very skeptical of diet pills...

I took some a few years ago trying to lose a few pounds... it wasn't Metabolife but something similar when the big Metabolife craze happened. My hands would shake and I could feel my heart beating really fast.

I personally think that diet and exercise is key, and that the goal should be "being healthy" instead of "losing weight". Often the "losing weight" part comes along with the "being healthy" part. But sometimes our bodies just wanna be a bit bigger than we want them to be, and we can still be perfectly healthy and happy that way.

It's important to be healthy because then we can be more available to do the Lord's work. However when we become obsessed with vain things like how thin we are, it then hinders our ability to focus on God.

God bless you brother, in your quest for good physical health. :highfive:
