Hi,
Has anyone here successfully cut down their coffee/tea intake (preferably to none at all)? If yes, what did you do (e.g., substituting it with another beverage)?
Cheers,
Mario
ran out of cofee and became too broke to buy any more ;-)
uh - seriously - I'm not that addicted - but when I get where I'm drinking too much, I just tell myself to stop - I can be stubborn with my decisions when I want to be.

Had to give up caffeine due to a stomach problem back in March. Here's the bad news: No matter what you do you will get the shakes and have headaches.
Good news: It only lasts a couple of days.
I found that drinking caffeine free coke helps, decaf coffee is nasty. Try and drink water and eat low fat foods, it will help.
(oh, and warn everyone in advance that you might possibly be grumpy for a bit.)
Good luck,

I made my coffe so dark that it tasted really awful..then I never wanted to drink it again ;)
 Sweet Melody, that's funny!
I don't really have an addiction problem with caffeine, but I love caffinated beverages and they really affect me a lot. My heart rate will shoot through the roof with just one diet coke can. So I just started drinking decaf coffee (I hardly ever have it anyway) and caffeine-free coke.
What if you try drinking half decaf/half regular for a while and gradually get down to only decaf? Just a suggestion :D Good luck!
I am weaning myself off of coffee with Yerba Matté. Trying to get down to one cup of java a day, in the morning.
what is Yerba Matte? I've never heard of it :)

I get mine at the local Cuban grocery store. There are different varieties of it from the more mild end of the spectrum to the stronger flavored.
huh. interesting. so is it addictive like caffiene? I didn't see anything about that on the page :)
I'll have to check into that. The fact that it doesn't make me jittery and give me the shakes is a big plus for my family. ;)
