not sure if I spelled that right.... but I probably have bursitis in both my knees though it's worse in the right. I don't know much about it though and was wondering if anyone here did- especially if they knew any exercises or something that might help.

Father please help Jason with this and give him relief according to the victory of Jesus. Thank You.

Bursitis is an inflammation of the Bursa sac in the joints. Basically the bursa is a resivoir for lubricant for cartilage (the short, short version ;) ). When over used repetitively it can become inflamed and can be very, very painful.

There's really nothing for it other than rest, ice (ten minutes on, ten minutes off) and possibly anti-inflammatory drugs.

It is very important not to try and excercise until the inflammation and pain go away. Any excercise while the bursa sac is inflamed will only make the problem worse.

When it does go away there are Leg strengthening excercises you can do to prevent it from happening again, but, if you have it in your knees. that is usually caused by excessive kneeling (painters, etc.) If you are doing a lot of that then the best advice is knee pads. :)

I'll pray for you though, it is very painful I know.

High_Ground,
Just curious.... My mother had bursitis in her shoulder. She went to the doctor and he jerked her arm up high and she said it her her like crazy. He prescribed no meds or anything just said that would help. After a few minutes the pain went away and she never had trouble again. Why do you think this would have helped her? (this was 20 years or more ago).
I am NOT recommending this for Orpheus42, just curious since exercise is not good for it and it sounds like he could very well have hurt her easily.

The only thing I can think of is that maybe the bursa sac was twisted, or pinched, and moving it like that released it.

Kindof like working a pinched nerve loose.

My husband has bad knees from playing basketball on concrete. I'm not sure exactly what's wrong with them except the cartilege (sp?) is not good.

He swears by glucosamine. He takes it every day and it really helps his knees not to hurt. Maybe you could do a search on it and see if it would help your problem. My hubby has a job that he stands almost all day on real hard floors and is lifting alot.

Yeah, my dad has knee problems that have been made worse by 20+ years of working in a plant that has concrete floors... concrete is very bad for knees, ankles, feet, hips, back, etc. etc. etc. because very little of the shock from your steps transfers into the floor- it all goes up through the legs into the body. *sigh*

I worked there for 3 summers, definitely sure I don't want to work in a place like that.

I just try and stay off of it as much as possible, but I have to do a certain amount of exercise (trying to drop weight, you know) and plus I work on my feet (at a pizza place) and I play softball (which I will do until the day my legs break off at the knees).
