I recently got with a nutrionalist and got this diet approved. It works for me, and may work for you.
1. Stay under 1800 calories everyday. Women may want to stay under 1500.
2. Drink AT LEAST 1 gallon of water everyday. That is 8 16oz glasses.
3. No sweets! Very little bread and pastas.
4. Make as many of your calories as possible vegetables.
5. Breakfast should bve your biggest meal of the day.
6. Excersize!!!! Just walking for 15 minutes at a moderate pace will burn 150 (or so) calories.
7. NO SODAS EXCEPT FOR DIET!!!!!
8. Use your calories wisely and get the most bang for your buck.

ps: i also declare (everyday): By the Stripes of Jesus I will only eat when i am really hunger, only eat healthy, and I will build my body into what God wants.
