Has anyone done this?

I'm thinking of doing it again. Why I don't do it more who knows. I feel better for sure. This is probably not the plan for those who thrive on Atkins but for those of us who get miserably sick on Atkins or don't like it or can't afford it this seems to work well. Scientific folks say that this eating plan leads to lower rises in blood sugar and fewer plunges into low blood sugar and the major hungry munchies. They also say it is helpful for both diabetics and hypoglycemics and provides more physical endurance. I just know for me it works. Charles says it's complicated but to me it is simple especially after reading The Good Calorie Diet. There are no calorie restrictions and one can eat till it comes out one's ears as long as it is in balance. Tho for me I felt satisfied and so didn't seem to want as much. There is no deprivartion because you can have anything you want as long as you balance it with low glycemic stuff so glycemic balance totals out right. Strangely enough for me anythow what I wanted changed tho. DQ Blizzards became less interesting than oranges.

2 books Naturally Slim and Powerful and The Good Calorie Diet explain better than I can.

Ann, I saw your post on the other board and came over to look for this. Have you been following this way of eating again? It seems effective but not as restrictive as the low-carb plans out there. I like your attitude, it's not so much "I can't eat this or that" but more like "if I eat that I'm going to feel rotten or if I eat this I'm going to feel good". I think that way of thinking would help you not feel deprived.
I know what you mean about the orange. Fruit has just the right sweetness when you don't eat sugar snacks all the time.
I major attraction for me to a plan like this is that I think it can help my moods. Blood sugar rising and plummeting makes me so moody, which I think can impact depression, anxiety, etc..
Anyway, thanks for posting this information here! I'm not an Atkins person. I like all foods, just need to learn to be wise.
