This book has kept me alive spiritually, though barely. It is my life support system, my IV bag, my donation of blood.

Though it doesn't recommend being overweight to the point of heart attack candidacy, it does say that women who are big are equally as physically beautiful as a Cosmopolitan model. It teaches women not to be ashamed of their big sizes, and reassures them they do not have to wear "fat lady" clothes.

Mo'nique shares her troubles with being abused and humiliated from being fat From her own family. (something I too have suffered all my life and share her pain.)

Mo nique tells us not to be ashamed to eat rich wonderful prime rib, baby back ribs, stew, peach coobbler...

She tells us real, actual men love women who can eat heartily. Real men adore them.

 She is a gift from the Lord.

He wishes I was a bit bigger...

But really, I wish 'bigger' girls wouldn't put down us 'littler' girls. I mean, I can understand why people get to that point, but why is that looked at as ok?
I know I have gotten tired of hearing "Do you EAT?!" "You look anorexic!" and things like that. I do NOT look anorexic! I have curves! But I digrees and that's really not the point. ;)

I'm glad you've found a book that's making you more comfortable with your body shape. :)

Morrigan, I don't think this thread was to take *anyone* on a guilt trip.
On the contrary! I think it's a thread dedicated to people being comfortable with whatever their body shape is. :)

some of us eat healthy and exercise and still have problems with weight and appearance...

I happen to be one of them... I'm diabetic so I have to eat well, and I exercise on a regular basis to help fight the effects of my disease
