I am searching for my husbands father, we have very little information and are hoping this will reing a bell with someone reading. His fathers name is Thomas Jones and was in the Navy around 1968 & 1969. His nickname was "Bill" my mother in laws name is Lolita and they met in the Phillipines. My husband was born in Subic Bay. Thomas was around 5'8 or 5'9 and had blonde hair and blue eyes. I know these are common features but if this is at all familiar please email me

Hello Casslea
You can try calling your local American Red Cross office, ask to speak to an Armed Forces Emergency Assistance caseworker and ask that person to please give you the info on how to contact the navy re: possible contact info. I used to be an AFES caseworker for Red Cross but can't remember the specific contacting info. You may also be able to get some info by contacting the Navy and / or the Veterns Administration directly. It's a long shot but it just might work. If your husband or his mom has any idea of social security numbers, unit numbers or name, name of ship on which he served, his home town, birthdate, more certain dates of service, his rank, any medals or commendations, date of marriage, etc. That may help. If you know his hometown and state you might also try www.switchboard.com and search for anyone on that area with his name. This is a pretty common name but still. Another possibility might be www.classmates.com checking for a high school in the hometown area and ppl who may have been in same class years as he was to your best guess of his age.
