oh really, lets see, you are averaging 4.19 posts per day, while I am averaging 17.98 posts per day. I'd tell you when I'm gonna pass you, but it would require that I integrate to determine the coefficient of the unknown, or something like that...
Besides, I'm 3 months older than you, respect your elders :)
Sorry, that's classified intelligence.

May I suggest Flannel's Minion?
here's how it will look:

Flannel's Minion
Yes I do know. I've been knowing since the day I found out there was a title feature. What do you think has been driving me to get the 300 posts? Cause I want the title and not just any title, that title. I appreciate your suggestion, but I've been planning on this for too long.

You know you want to tell us :)
Quick question: How many characters can it be? I might have a problem there. Darn, I didn't even think about that. If it's too long, then yes, I'll be Flannel's Minion. *whispers* BTW, what's a minion?

Is it longer than The Great Redneck Hope?
From Websters Dictionary on AOL:
min*ion (noun)
[Middle French mignon darling]
First appeared 1501
1 : a servile dependent, follower, or underling
2 : one highly favored : IDOL
3 : a subordinate or petty official
I sure hope you meant the 2nd meaning!!!
I'm okay with my title though. You've got me beat by 3 characters, so I won't have any problems!

A 6 month hiatus. College and a full time job a year and a half ago. Two broken monitors..... my posting average would be much higher....
Besides, I'm 3 months older than you, respect your elders
Physically yes...... :D
You may be my elder but I'm your moderator :D
I could delete all your posts and then you'd be averaging like 0.000000000001 ppd's :D
Not to mention my other username which has a few posts and the ones I lost in the board changeover..... :D

Hey!
Vinnie,
You should be using your powers for good not for evil. Anyway, don't they have you under a mod's code of honor or something?

Actually you don't..
<----living proof that a perfectly good person can exist without liking country music. But I like you guys!
LOL...I love you too Maria!!!
I won't hold the fact that you don't like country music against you!

In my ever humble opinion, the session musicians who play on country albums are among the best musicians in the world. This is because they are capable of playing all types of music, not just country. I'm an avid music fan, so I usually read the album credits to find out who the players are, and then I go and see if any of them have put out albums of their own, which several have. These albums are often loaded with some of the most musical variety you're likely to hear. One song will be country, the next will be funk, followed by swing, smooth jazz, blues, bluegrass, Cajun, and latin, and it's all played by the same musicians. That's why I feel they're the best. I doubt you could put a group of rock or jazz musicians together and have them come up with albums that cover such range and do it all well. And that, class, concludes today's lecture.
P.S. Diamond Rio is my favorite band.

Reed- I have to second that. Those guys are just incredible.
Diamond Rio is ok, I actually haven't heard much of them besides the few songs that were popular a few years ago when I listened to country on a regular basis. Mostly I listen to bluegrass when I think of country-type music now. The only group I know much by is Nickel Creek though, can you recommend a few others? Mostly I get my bluegrass fix by hanging out at a local coffee shop with some old bluegrass guys who just kick the crap out of me when it comes to pickin' :)
Peace, Love, and Jesus Christ,
Jason

One reason I love Diamond Rio so much is because they are the only country band that plays all of their own instruments. Plus they're all good at it. The lead guitar player has a double g/b bender on his guitar, and as a result, he can pull off some amazing licks! Five out of the six members have been nominated for best musician of the year. I just love them! All of the other country groups sometimes play their own instruments, but they usually hire session players. That's why I like to get albums by the session guys to find out what they like to play when they're not playing for somebody else. If you'd like to get some instrumental albums by these players, my top recommendations would be "Hot Wired," by Brent Mason, and "New Nashville Cats," by Mark O'connor. Brent mason is probably the most famous session guitarist in Nashville. His album is mostly jazz and country. Mark Oconnor is a fiddle player. On "New Nashville Cats," he hired 52 of Nashville's best musicians to make an album with him. With the exception of the drummer and bass player from the Flecktones, all of them are either country or bluegrass players. The album covers just about everything, from country to jazz to bluegrass to latin to Cajun. You'll probably have to find those 2 on the internet at cdno or amazon.
If you were just looking for some regular country music, I'd highly recommend Brad Paisley. He's a brilliant guitar player, and he has some great songs. He's got a great sense of humor. He's also a Christian, so he doesn't record all the "Drinkin' and cheatin'" songs. Those are my recommendations for now.
Oh, and if you're ever bored, go to http://www.paul-franklin.com and go to his jukebox. The things that man can do with a steel guitar are amazing!
<-----surrounded by likable country fans:eek:
LOL Maria!!
Reed, Brad Paisley is good! I was so impressed that his lyrics didn't have beer and all that junk in it!
However, I'm not as technical in my appreciation of the music as you guys are...I just like the sound and the stories in the songs! I don't really get into all the musicla aspects of it! (It's probaly a good thing I'm not a music major! :) ) I think my favorite has to be Randy Travis though!!!! :D
Today's the day!
<-------------------- Check it out!

First of all, congrats to Crystal! Not only does she have her title, but she actually tried to get this thread back on topic! What a noble ambition! Secondly, I like Randy Travis as well. Third, Paisley did write a song about wishing he were on a boat with his girlfriend instead of in church. The heathen! Fourth, I'm only a music minor, and not many people in MSU's music department like country. Come to think of it, the idea of majoring in country music just sounds wrong! Fifth, getting back to Jason, if you're looking for more bluegrass type music,Alison Kraus sounds very similar to Nickel Creek, at least vocally. If you're looking for more instrumental stuff, you should tcheck out people like Sam bush, Jerry Douglas, or Aubrey Haynie. Ever heard of New Grass Revival? That's the bluegrass band Bela Fleck was in. I think Bela's also put out some bluegrass of his own. You also might like an album called "The Teleride Sessions," by Strength in Numbers, which is an album that Bela Fleck, Mark Oconnor, Sam Bush, and Jerry Douglas recorded together. I personally didn't like it much, but I'm not sure where your musical tastes lie, so I just thought I'd mention it. Well, that should be more than enough for now.
Well, after congratulating Crystal for getting the thread back on topic, you managed to drag it right back off! And, all in one post! Bravo!!
