Does anyone here regularly drink protein shakes? I was wondering what people prefer for the liquid base - skim milk? Water? Juices? What would you use with a chocolate or fruit flavored powder? I'm supposed to be drinking a lot of shakes but am getting tired of using water for everything...

I have thought about it and asked around, but I decided not to use them. But, I have been told that you can use skim milk to make them better. Or, you can even use water ice and fruit, and mix it all up in ablender for a smootie! :)

I used skim milk for a while, but they tasted really bad no matter what I used. I ended up switching to this other brand (that was slightly more expensive) that I could just add water too and it didn't taste so bad. Plus it was thinner, which meant that I could drink the thing faster. It was a chocolate powder and water seemed to work the best.
But that was when I used to work out a lot. If I drank protein shakes now, I'd just get fat.
So I probably didn't help very much. Sorry! :)

Jo, do you mind if I ask why you are supposed to drink a lot of the shakes?

Not at all, Ann. :) I just drink them for breakfast on weekdays. They are part of the Fat Flush diet by Louise Gittleman. I haven't stuck faithfully to that diet since I began work a few weeks ago, but the shakes save a lot of time in the mornings - I drink them during the morning commute.

But I'm getting tired of cranberry water as the base...;)
