this forum needed a new post ;) - so I decided to announce that I am drinking water at this moment - and considering the water is in a chick-fil-a cup it's quite suprising that it's not tea :D

anyway - in order to actually have a point to this thread - how do ya'll make sure you get your 8 glasses of water in each day?

I just get thirsty a lot and consume a lot of water. I used to try and get anywhere from 100 oz to a gallon a day, but I don't monitor it quite as closely as I used to. But I could probably drink 64 oz just at lunch.

I am bad. I hate water. I hate drinking water. I dont know why, but I do. There is no taste, it is just blah. And yes I know all about the adding lemon or whatnot to it, it doesnt help. I am so bad that I only drink water unless I have to. I drink way too much diet soda. And before anyone starts preaching to me about the evils of nutrisweet, believe me I know it all. My mother is always emailing me stuff on it, saving articles for me..etc etc. I really do need to start drinking more water. But like I said I hate it. I heard recently that you are supposed to drink half your weight in ounces...a DAY! Holy cow, that is a lot of water. I would be drinking like over 70 ounces of water a day. I just dont think I can do that. Blah, now ya'll have made me feel like a heel! LOL!

I carry a water bottle with me wherever I go. To class, to swimming and especially if I'm going out somewhere. That way if I get thirsty, I'll drink the water instead of buying some sugary drink which really doesn't help with thirst anyways. I'm also the kind of person that thinks better if I'm doing something, so it's especially useful in class if I'm having trouble on a question and I need to take a "think" break. I used to not like water, but I started drinking it and now it's not only become a habit, I crave it. My family also always keeps a pitcher of water in the fridge, for some reason it tastes a lot better when it's cold. Oh yah, one more thing, if I go out to eat, I always just ask for water instead of a pop, saves money. ;)

Like Cath, I try to take a bottle of water with me wherever I go. Ordering water at restaurants really cuts costs! ;)

Amy, if you dont like the taste of water you could try fruit flavored water. They make all kinds of flavors, and just about any grocery store should have it. Just make sure that it doesnt have any carbohydrates.

I actually knew a girl that drank a lot more water than me. She was in high school and she practiced at the same track that I did when I was in college (she was actually one of the elite runners in the US at the time, still might be come to think of it). I think she drank near 3 gallons of water a day. She actually flushed out a lot of the minerals that her body needed to compete so she ended up having a stretch where she would get dizzy and fall down periodically. But the figured out what was going on and gave her some supplements to take (kind of like Gatorade) and she was fine.

But I just consume a lot of liquid (food too), so I figure if it wasn't water, it would be juice or soda or something else so it might as well be water.
But I don't like to drink cold water, it has to be just a little under room temp or else I can't drink it as fast.

My mom has found that she drinks more water if its at room temp, but I don't have a filter pitched & city water is kinda gross at times... So I keep my water bottle in the freezer, the colder it is, the more I drink!

Right now I'm trying to drink 64 oz of water a day. I'll admit, I've been doing pretty pathetically these past few days, but I'm getting back in there!!! Nomatter what! :p

Bigkat = Mr. Jock... Seriously though, room temp water??? That is sick! I can't stand water that is lukewarm (just like the Lord with lukewarm christians...LOL, I couldnt resist that..heh). If I do drink water it has to be really cold. I did see this stuff that is out by the Snapple people I think, I forget what its called. It's a flavored water or something. I might check that out.

when you get diabetes all your water consumption problems are fixed because you are extra thirsty and you can't hardely drink anything else...

I've been drinking at least 8 sometimes up to like 12 a day... sometimes even more than that... i don't like lukewarm water so if it's cold I'll drink more

I am bad too. I HATE drinking water. I'm trying to make a real effort to get back into it cause it's important for me :baby: to be hydrated, plus I'll need to be keeping up after the baby's born after cause I'll be breastfeeding.

Looks great but the nearest one is 48 miles away from me. I guess Wendy's chicken sandwich will have to do till I can figure out an excuse to drive that far.

500 miles to the nearest one for me.

OK Michelle I'm lost - that's what happens when the nearest Chick lanndmark is The Big Chicken and it's all the way over in Marietta.....are you advocating going to Chick-Fil_A to look at the food and just drink water?

:D

*gasp* how dare you compare the "big chicken" of that other chicken restraunt to the far superior Chick-fil-A??? ;)

and..bigkat..if I had my way - there'd be a Chick-fil-A in Oregon by June 10th when I arrive. My brother was talking the other day about opening one out west - I told him to hurry up! :D Actually - the first time I talked to the guy up there he told me that I would be required to bring a bag of chick-fil-a with me or they'd send me back ;) hehe..see - I'm not entirely insane - others agree with me! :D
