aluminum - cancer and alzheimers?

Ok, I know that most of the aluminum/deodorant linking with cancer is based from an email hoax. i did want to get that out in the light in case others had seen that.

However, I have heard that using aluminum pans, drinking from aluminum cans, etc, can expose you to a lot of it and that it had been linked to alzheimer's disease when you get older. Do any of you have any hard facts that refute or support that? It's something I have wondered about for a while. I worry that my husband almost exclusively drinks from aluminum cans (and they are filled with aspartame which is a subject for another thread...)

The only thing I know about Alzheimers is that it can start in your early thirties. My dad has alzheimers. He is in the first part of the last stage.
