How much do these issues have to do with healthy weight loss and maintenance? I know how they have affected me at my age. I'm curious about how they have or have not affected other people's ability to maintain a healthy balance and various stages of their lives. Do you have trouble getting motivated? Have any helpful ideas to share???? Any input would be appreciated.

I guess the biggest question is how to force me away from the computer to get out and get some good old fashioned exercise??

:hyper:

one...two...three....four......one....two...three. ....four....get that body MOVING!!! ....two....three.....four......

*geez, you'd think marching cadence and pulling guard duty in the CHAMPIONS forum would keep me fit as a fiddle....and then there's the occasional :smash: I get to do whenever the OTHER forum personnel (trying to be nice and not call them ugly names) get a little to close to us CHAMPIONS!*

I'm not sure of cyber-exercising helps any Marilyn!

though it would be nice if it did..hmmm...

*runs 5 miles*

*does 50 push-ups*

*does 100 crunches*

*wipes of sweat*

;)

but - yeah - from personal experience excersing increases metabolism.

there are also ways of incorporating exercise into your daily life. Stairs instead of elevator, walk briskly to the mailbox instead of a lazy walk or driving by, and housework is an exercise routine in itself at times ;).

ahhh, if only online exercise helped ... I would do high impact pilates and jog three miles every day! hehe :)

In addition to raising my metabolism, exercise also makes me "feel" healthier. It's hard to describe exactly how, but I get winded less easily, have more energy, and feel more emotionally healthy.

Also, for some reason, when I'm exercising my body is much "smarter" about the food it craves. For isntance if I'm not exercising I may crave pizza and brownies for dinner, but if I am exercising I'll crave a nice cut of halibut and broccoli!! :yummy:

Another benefit to exercise is making me feel more connected to my body overall. I pay attention to little aches and pains better, and am better able to know when I need to stretch, get some movement, or just relax.

Kip - I'm the same way - my body craves good food when I exercise

and - exercise releases all those endorphins which gives your body a natural high - so that's why it makes you feel better.
